Overtone: Bleach Professionally, Dye Economically

Most girls know the painful price that comes with the saying “new hair, who dis?” I never truly understood the price we pay to achieve our hair goals until I decided I wanted blue hair.

Previously…

I have to preface this with a little bit of history. I’ve hated getting haircuts since I was little. Anybody who attempts to cut my hair always comments not so nicely about how I have “too much hair”, “it requires more product”, and it normally takes several people working on my hair at once to try to get the job done quicker but not necessarily done nicely. I used to cry after almost every haircut because they all came out so terribly. The hair stylist would get tired half way through weeding my hair and would do a mediocre job for the finale. I’ve gotten into one or two haircuts per year routine. I used to get Japanese straightening for a while. Then I switched to perms. In between, my mom would mostly dye my hair at home to cover up my grays that started coming in early.

So I’ve always been pretty traumatized of letting anyone touch my hair but I’ve also always wanted to dye it different colors. In high school, my friend and I dyed each others hairs blue and red using a box hair dye but it never really took since we both have black hair.

Now…

I contemplated getting blue hair for a year because I didn’t trust any hair stylist to bleach my hair, let alone cut it. It wasn’t until my friend introduced to me to Haiier that I took the chance. They did such a phenomenal job and I went back several times to get grey hair, red hair, and blue again.

Until it was getting to be too expensive! I loved having colorful hair but I’m realistic and that wasn’t a realistic expense. That was when I found Overtone!

I was really into the blue/teal combination. I actually went back to Haiier for a haircut and they asked me who dyed my hair so nicely! They even thought it was done professionally.

Tips to Using Overtone:

  1. Get your hair professionally bleached for even bleaching. Then use overtone!
  2. Wear gloves.
  3. I always used it when my hair is dry because I found it easier to work into my hair.
  4. Using two colors that go well together like teal and blue gives your hair more texture.
  5. Section your hair into small sections like 1-inch if you are using two colors and alternate. This does take much longer but the results are worth it!
  6. Rub into hair well so it dyes evenly.

If you want to try, you can get $10 off your order using this link!

I’ve recommend it to several friends and coworkers and they’re all hooked! Save those dolla bill$ y’all! Treat yourself to something else or put it in your savings. #adulting.

And don’t forget to let me know how fabulous your hair turns out!
